Open Position: General Labor/Pipelayer

General Labor – Job Description/Duties

  • Responsible for assisting in completion of projects while following all company and safety policies.
  • Responsible for setting stringline, stringing pipe, grouting manholes, and tarring products as needed.
  • Continuous monitoring of job site to maintain a safe work area by following OSHA safety protocol for employees inside and outside trenches including the surrounding area.
  • Maintain communication with all crew members and foreman for proper installation of product, as well as, the safety of others.
  • Ability to understand and read grade stakes.
  • Ability to anticipate project needs and place material and/or tools appropriately to keep crew moving without delay.
  • Ability to prepare tools, as well as, safely and efficiently use tools necessary such as lasers, locators, shovel, forms, ladders, saws, hammers, etc.
  • Responsible for care of job site tools, as well as, putting tools and supplies away at the end of the work day.
  • Ability to follow instructions and retain prior learning.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Must be available to work Monday thru Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday’s 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional after hours required for water main breaks, snow removal or other utility emergencies.

General Labor Application

Open Position: Pipe Crew Foreman/Operator

Job Description/Duties

  • Oversee and supervise crew of 5-6 employees consisting of equipment operators, pipelayers and general laborers
  • Coordinate daily project operations to keep site running efficiently and safely
  • Provide direction, guidance and occasional training to crew members
  • Anticipate material, labor and equipment needs and assess field operations on a daily basis to keep site running without delay
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand project specifications
  • Communicate and advise management of any project delays, staff problems, material issues, etc.
  • Submit paperwork as required
  • Responsible for the safe operation of wheeled loaders, excavators, backhoes, skid steers and other general construction equipment
  • Fuel, grease and maintain equipment by checking all fluids DAILY including, but not limited to: engine oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, hydraulic fluid & final drives
  • Maintain safe work area by following OSHA safety protocol for trenching, shoring etc.
  • Maintain communication with all crew members for proper installation of product, as well as the safety of others
  • Ability to understand and follow grade
  • Hold OSHA 10hr/30hr safety card and other certificates or licenses as required by industry

Open Position: Diesel Mechanic

Job Description/Duties

  • Responsible for maintaining & servicing all construction equipment including trucks, trailers, generators, pumps and other construction tools by completing inspections, preventative maintenance and necessary repairs
  • Perform annual DOT inspections on equipment as required
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records on vehicles and equipment
  • Responsible for diagnosing problems and using equipment manuals and web sites to ensure that proper parts are ordered and installed correctly
  • Supervise and direct the Fuel/Lube technician and any other shop employees
  • Monitor shop area to maintain a safe, CLEAN & organized work area by following OSHA protocol
  • Maintain parts inventory and order replacement parts/ supplies as needed
  • Communicate with supervisors/owners regarding needed repairs and estimated cost of materials and/labor
  • Communicate with operators & foreman regarding maintenance & repairs on equipment
  • Responsible for safe and proper use and maintenance of shop tools, as well as putting tools and supplies away at the end of the work day
  • Update overall knowledge by attending educational opportunities and reading publications
  • Comply with Federal and State DOT requirements including maintaining certifications & licensures as needed

Job Requirements

Precast Labor – Job Description/Duties

  • Assist in pouring concrete, setting concrete forms, cutting or setting rebar and other materials as needed.
  • Assist in placing tarps and other curing materials on precast products as needed.
  • Apply form grease to concrete forms and maintain other equipment as needed.
